Fifty years later from Wide Horizons school 2010

When fifty years from now, I will be an old man, tells my experience of Home Work to my grandson which is most remembering from Wide Horizons school. First of all home work from English subject will be told to my grandsons. In this story, it will be about how we were doing as an individual and group work. In the description, it will be added, individual work was rapidly done but the idea was not excellent in our task of home work. However, group work could develop more ideas in our work but it usually took longer than individual work. Moreover, it will be the benefit of the home work from English subject. In fact, there are three benefits from doing home work. One is practicing our lesson. For instance, we had learned and got understanding our lessons of essay writing from the whole class but we would forgive some part of it. So, we had to use our remembering to write an essay using our note to help us or ask our classmate. Another one of benefit is preparation questions, in result of practicing of writing essay, if we are not sure in some part of writing, we can prepare questions concerning our work to the next class. The last benefit is creating freedom of critical thinking. It does not mean that we were not free for critical thinking in the class but we had to concentrate when our teacher were giving lecture or explaining. However, the concentration was more focused on our thinking when we were out of the class but it’s based on what we had learned from the class. Another home work was from project management that will be told to my grandson about it was different. It was less than English but it was very big work when we were given. For example, report writing was a long text in the many pages had to write and peer edition to the final draft in a long period. At last I will tell about home work from computer subject, was similar with management subject that took a long time to create website design. Telling additionally, both subjects of management and computer are the same benefits with English home work. In brief, the most remembering experience of home work will be shared to my grandson when I am very old, fifty years later.

Useful things Learned from CBO visit

My useful two things of focusing on goal and making decision those I learned from visiting CBOs to use in my organization in the future. First of all, I have learned their focusing on their goal. In fact, according IRC director Dr. Naing said that “we do not accept every donors and follow their policy because we are focusing on our goal. It should be matched with our goal that we want to work for. In addition, they organize their structure in every sections for every people have a role to work in a group to reach their goal. For example, IRC (International Rescue Committee) has two sections, one is support program to arrange and manage for another section group that is called working program which people are working in the field. Those focusing our goal and divide each section to be clear reaching the goal are necessary for my organization to develop. So, it is helpful for me to bring to my organization and change into systematic way as they have used. Another one thing is making decision on the several cases of appearing. Most of organizations are used TOP decision. It means decision would be made EC (Executive Committee) because they have lots of members. However, a few organizations used flat structure to run and discus openly. Especially, there are a few members in an organization. For example, CP (Curriculum Project) is eight members in their organization. It is open discussion and got direct idea from every member to make decision. Since 2007, they have run so far, they achieved over 100 migrant schools to be sent their curriculum in Thailand. So, they have developed by working together. In this point, I can use this way for my organization when we have a few member but it will be challenging for a lot of member. Briefly, make decision and focusing goal are, I have learned in CBOs’ visiting will be useful for my organization in the future.

Characteristics of perfect leader

Perfect leader is determined, ambitious, and knowledgeable as describing in the book of Animal farm. First of all, Snowball is determined to reach what major’s guide for their freedom. In addition, a leader should be in a clear goal what they are doing. For instance, Snowball is trying to get freedom for not only Animal farm but also others farm. Concretely, after 1847 Gandhi had very sturdy endeavor to put together the two ethnic of Hintu and Muslim live in India not separated region. In fact, Snowball has vision in his mind to perform the right way for his goal that all animals should have rights like Gandhi. Then, to be perfect leader like Boxer who is ambitious for his work by his physical energy even he is lack of literature. According he sets his motto “I will work hard” he will continue to work harder under Napoleon control even Snowball’s expulsion. Similarly, he is doing the same with common know Marathon, Greek messenger Pheidippides in 490 BC was running entire distance over 240 kilomeres from Athens to Sparta without stopping according to (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marathon). Finally, leader should be knowledgeable the same with Pigeon in the book spreading information to others. In fact, in the real human being it’s needed a good relationship to communicate with neighborhoods or distance customers. So, Pegoens will have conversation each others to share ideas. The others side also will share their belief or concerning. Then they realize the environment events and current information and get knowledge that is useful to use in our work by comparing before and current events. Briefly, characteristic of determination, ambition and knowledge create perfect leader in the book of Animal farm.

Propaganda in military are in Burma

Propaganda in our country is obviously military government convinces its people for his power stronger. Firstly, military regime prove to its people from the history of colony era said that our country used to be slave of British in 1895 and Japanese 1945. In that time, the people were suffering persecution of the colonist such as losing colossal life and property such as pulling the finger nail with pliers which is today taught in the history book of school. Then, pointing out only military leaded to snatch out from colonists that Burmese people used to be slave. Also, today independent of Burma from 1948 was attempted by Burmese military called in Burmese THNTMATAW. So they use history, examples of history and Thatmataw lead to be independent of Burma to persuade and show that only military can organized the ethnic in Burma to be united not to separate into small countries. In addition, if the country broke into small countries and Thatmataw (military) is not strong, other countries will come to colonize again easily. Then you (the citizen of Burma) will be slaves again. Therefore some of people in the country still flow their propaganda and support them like as entering to be a member of Non military organization (a group that called Paiy Kying Phow-The Union Solidarity and Development Association (USDA)-) which formed by military regime. In one of using propaganda result, they can still hold the power of the country until today. Briefly, the people of Burma are convinced by military regime to hold stronger power.

Reflection 2

Refection for discussion of Animal Farm Book and real life

Reflected our discussion using our reading book was interesting that privileged discussion I have never heard before and we will have in the future. Firstly, it was the most interesting about people created heaven in certain life rather than waiting for the next life as Thi Ha pointed out. In fact, in the religion the people believed there will be in the heaven if we are doing the good things in this life but it still needs to wait after we die. He also mentioned the Greek people drew the policy of peaceful, sufficient life like heaven by the politic which is the same idea with religion. So, these two ideas are intertwined now a day events. It was connected to significant events people are using religion to fetch their politic goal and the politic party charged them. For instance according to news website VOA in Britain on Thursday Jan 7, 2010 the British government banned Islam4 organization because of contacting with terrorist. That’s why it is creditable for me to connect those two politics and religion. Secondly, we were discussing about politics is realistic that is proven MaHa Thama Gandi used politics to get his country peaceful and people can reach their dream like American could arrived on the surface of the moon in 1971. Furthermore our class mate talk about Mother Teasa and religious Israel but I have never heard about the Greek create democratic policy based on the religion. At last, I am enthusiastic to have discussion of real life and author’s ideas in books consequently. Finally, our discussion was motivating our idea that realized new idea I have not heard and it will talk more the next time.

Successful and unsuccessful revolution

Revolution was successful by unity of citizen when that citizen was extremely suffering various difficulties but when the people are not unified, it’s inconvenient to be success. Firstly, French revolution in 1789 was successful. Due to the causes of Ancien Régime or Old Regime, financial, economic, awful Louis king, those are pushing them all to revolt at the same time. Secondly, they could prepare their new constitution for the new government and there was including women in the revolution as they call Minlitant Feminism in the Revolution in 1793 actively. Also others women chose to influence events through writing, publications, and meetings. For example, Olympe de Gouges wrote a number of plays, short stories, and novels to declare the right political view. All kind of people in the country were one heart to overthrow the old government. In contrast, Saffron revolution 2007 in Burma has not succeeded yet. The most actively monks were marching on the road and many people joined them to revolt. However, another side cruelly used weapon to crash empty hand monk and people. Monks and students were killed and put in prisons. There was not including the military to join with the monk and citizen in the revolution because they are still supported by their brutal leaders. However only higher position got advantage mostly. Some soldiers are difficult like civilian. One day, if military join with monks and civilians to revolt at the same time, will be successful. Therefore, unified nation revolt from extreme suffering of people was successful and it has not succeeded when revolution need unity.
