Reflection on focus group as a facilitator in a refugee camp
Acting a facilitator in a focus group activity in the class made me to feel in a practical way. Firstly, my weakness is, I could not act in a good way because I was very frustrated with the refugee's questions that was unconcerned with what we wanted to explain even I have prepared several questions in my note book. Therefore, I have no idea to explain for our matter except questioning to our teacher. After advising of our teacher, I was able to explain them what we are coming to the camp. At that time, they are becoming silence and ask questions in the frame of my topic. So, I learned how to tell them to get information among refugee such we have to follow their question and try to persuade them to our topic. In fact of this activity was provided in a good teaching from our teacher, I liked and enjoyed it very much but we have to do it in a deep thinking like a real life. In order, for the next activity, I have an idea to do in different way that firstly approaching to a leader of the camp or a respectful person in their community to organize them before we start our research. Then we can continue our explanation of how we want to help their needs. In reality, I have to use this tool/activity for my community or stake holders in everywhere I involve with. In concluding, my reflection on that activity has assessed me how to do in a real life perfectly.
